About the Matthew Kennedy House
Mulberry & Lime was created in the owner’s, Mary Ginocchio, childhood home. Originally built in the early 1800s by Matthew Kennedy, the house has been in the Ginocchio family for five generations. Bought by Hannibal Buchignani in the late 1800s to early 1900s, the original intent was to have a boarding house, which it was for a brief period of time. It wasn’t until 1967 when Martin and Sue, Mary’s parents, decided to move in, that this grand old house became a home. Mary and her three siblings grew up in the house before Mary later moved in with her two children, Annie and Ben.
